For a residential (domicile) certificate, both Kannada and English are generally accepted. Most government authorities issue the certificate in Kannada by default, but an English version is also valid for admissions and entrance exams. If the certificate is in Kannada, colleges and exam authorities usually accept it without any issue. However, if you are applying outside Karnataka, it is safer to get an English version or a bilingual certificate to avoid confusion during document verification.
