Sarcolemma is the outer layer of the smooth muscles present within the body. Mostly the smooth muscles are found in the within the digestive system which aids in digestion of foods.

Smooth muscles are also found on the walls of the various hollow organs such as stomach, intestine, Urinary bladder, arteries, veins etc.
