I can totally understand your  dilemma. See Shravani , its not about the scope! Its about what you like . Ask yourself that can you do this work the whole life!? 

Talking about the scope , there are no branches in medical field that has less scopes the thing is to give 100% in the field you go.And being in 21st century female and male are equal. 

If your field of interest is in orthopaedics then simply go for it , because at the end self satisfaction matters a lot :)
