Shall I select the EWS field while filling IIT form if my father has taken VRS and not working any more?

In order to get an EWS quota you have to eligible in the following terms:

  • Given only for the General Category candidates. 
  • Family should have a gross annual income below Rs 8 lakh.
  • your family should not own or possess agricultural land of size 5 acres or above.
  • your family should not own or possess a residential plot of area 100 sq.yards or more in notified municipalities.
  • your family should not own or possess a residential plot of area 200 sq.yards or more in areas other than in notified municipalities.

Therefore, a person with above conditions is given this EWS seat.
