Yes. CDS provides an opportunity to Short service commission as well as permanent commission. You can get permanent commission by getting into AFA, IMA and INA. For that you need to appear in the Mathematics paper along with GK and English. The short service commission in Indian army is offered till the age of 25.

To join the Indian Army as Short Service Commissioned Officer you have and Age Limit upto 25 years! If you want, you can also change from Short Service Commission to Permanent Commission as years pass by.
