Coming to your question I would like to say that as you had taken already a drop this year I would recommend you to not take a drop further because this will affect your placements and also you will not be able to sit also in many companies for the placement drive as their elligibility is the candidate must have atleast a one year gap , so I will recommend you to just move on you have already given 2 attempts complete your engineering from a decent college and utilize your year further in gate to get into IIT's , just move on on your life don't struck to a particular point there are many opportunities waiting ahead friend .
And if you take a drop further it will seriously affect on your placements.

IF you are really interested to get into good and top colleges for pursuing your degree then you can make another attempt and give a second chance for JEE MAINS.but you need to be dedicated and constant motivation is the only source of great achievements.and also there will be no harm done to your placements after your degree.
