Hi

Actually, you don't need to compromise one to prepare for other i. e you can prepare for both jee main and term 2 board examination.

What all you need is to maintain a balance,

And trust me,

Balancing both is not that difficult dear because the only difference between board examination preparation and JEE preparation is that :-

  • Board examination is subjective while jee main is objective.

  • Board focuses more  on your hold on theory part and concepts while jee focus on your ability to apply concepts and theory learnt to solve numericals and problems

Besides these,

There's no difference as syllabus of both are almost same , and both board examination preparation and jee main examination preparation complement each other very well .

For example ,

if you read theory and derivation etc for your board examination preparation, then it is eventually  going to make your foundations  very strong which is required for solving numericals for your JEE main examination. Also, there are some theory based questions which are directly asked in jee just like in case of inorganic chemistry. So, preparing for board examination will not hamper your JEE main preparation

But yes,

You need to maintain a balance between your boards and jee preparation which you can do by following the below  tips:-

---------------------) Make  a routine/ time table and religiously follow it

---------------------) After studying  each chapter, you should go through first subjective questions for building foundations for solving mcqs.

---------------------)  Remember consistency is the key, so remain consistent throughout your preparation.

---------------------) And then go for mcqs for jee main examination.

---------------------) You should devote 1/3rd of your time for boards and 2/3 rd for jee preparation. For example, if you study 9 hours a day then 6 hours for jee and 3 hours for boards.

---------------------) Prepare short notes for quick revision

---------------------) Go through chapterwise previous year questions of your board examination and Jee examination

---------------------) Once you are done with preparation go through mock test papers of both boards and jee main.

---------------------) Analyse your weak areas in the mock tests and then improve yourself by working on them.

††† important note:- Still if you want to choose one then I would always suggest you to choose your board examination because board examination is a one time opportunity while you can appear for JEE main examination next year too and the year after that too

Thankyou

Hello aspirant,

See you are left with less time. What I suggest is try to concentrate on your board exams first because passing Board exam is important. If you fail in Board exam then it is of no use. If you can try to manage both Board Exam preparation and JEE Mains preparation then go for it. You can take crash course for JEE Mains as you are left with less time. Try to appear this year and see upto what mark you are. If you wish to take a drop and prepare then go for it after seeing your JEE Mains performance. As you 3 attempts for JEE Mains in three consecutive years and JEE Advanced in two consecutive years from the year you pass 12 th standard.

Preparation Tips for Exams:

First make a note of CAT syllabus and get idea of it.

Prepare your own short notes.

Make flow chart of the concepts to remember them easily.

First prepare the topics you feel easy, to boost up your confidence.

After than go for tough subjects prepration.

After completion of the syllabus preparation then solve previous year's papers.

See the type of questions asked in previous years and prepare accordingly.

Then go for sample papers solving.

Then take sample or practice tests.

Finally revise all the syllabus.

Hey!

You should first focus on your term 2 board examinations. As you said you haven't prepared for JEE Mains, you should simultaneously try to prepare for that too but you shouldn't neglect your board exams because there is a certain percentage requirement that you need to obtain in order to be eligible for the exam. If you are confident that you can easily obtain such marks in your board exams, then you should definitely look up for JEE concept as well. It all comes up to your capacity and capability and how much you can exert yourself with simultaneously studying for both. If you think you can do it, then go for it. But make sure it isn't the case where you are not able to prepare for both. Through the link provided below, you can know the JEE preparation tips.
