I think that you should atleast give a sincere effort.There are a few students who just cracked the jee mains and then studied hard and secured a seat.It totally depends on your strategy and your method of preparation.Also as you are sc category cut offs would be low for you.Just give it a try,and preparing for jee advanced can also push up your marks in private exams like viteee and srmjeee ,So you will be in a win-win situation.
