Hello there,

It all depends upon the capability and efficiency of the students. If you can cope up with the preparation of both then go for it else focus on your boards first.
However jee  syllabus covers majority of the parts of boards syllabus therefore by doing preparation of board you can automatically prepare a bit for jee and vice versa.
Most of students who crack into iits are freshers hence if other can do why can't you.
So, judge of abilities and go for the best for you.
