Hi ,

Percentile system has only been introduced this year and as reported by newspapers it has led to a lot of confusions . Until the previous year , colleges have been admitting students based on their rank . The rank can be calculated from percentile using this formula,

((100-P)×N )/100 where P is percentile and N is the total number of candidates this year which is 4,13,284.

So , it would be inconvenient for the colleges as well as students to go through the admission process in percentile,  hence this year most probably admission will be based on ranks .
