Note that to gain admissions into the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, you need to qualify JEE Advanced with a very high rank, preferably in the top 2000 in the country among 2.5 lakh students. 

 

The first stepping stone is JEE Mains. After qualifying JEE Mains, you are eligible to write JEE Advanced, which when you qualify with high rank, will give you an IIT seat.

JEE Advanced is conducted by the IITs for aspirants seeking admission in the institutes in undergraduate courses. But apart from the IITs, there are many other good colleges that accept the score. As the exam well designed to check the candidates capability.
