Why would you want to do that, though? The difference between a B.Tech syllabus and what you are trained to do in an AME course are vastly different.

There is a whole lot of basics, detailed theory in a B.Tech Course. The AME training is specific to training a person to maintain an aircraft as per standards set by respective countries.

Im not sure if this is still happening, but Air India, Indian Airlines, our Armed Forces including the Coast Guard used to recruit engineering graduates as Trainee Engineers - for aircraft maintenance work.
