Hello there, aspirant.

I hope everything is going well for you.

Between CSE and CSE with specialisation, there is no such thing as a good or terrible option. In fact, if you only want a one-line response to this question, I'd suggest the superior CSE is the one that has piqued your curiosity and attention.

Please allow me to clarify. See, traditional CSE covers all parts of computer science and engineering, whereas CSE with specialisation focuses on your area of expertise. For example, if you choose CSE with Artificial Intelligence, the main focus will be on making you an expert in Information AI fields, whereas normal CSE is a broad-based programme. In general, it entails the creation of computer software/applications and hardware operations. If a student enrols in this course, he or she will be able to comprehend, learn, and apply a variety of programming languages, networking and telecommunications, digital and analogue electronics, and other topics.

However, there is a catch: you can study that specialist technology in regular CSE as well, and there are many supplements available on the Internet to assist you. Not only that, many universities nowadays are offering AI and ML alternatives when a student enters the fifth semester.

There isn't much of a change in terms of placement right now, but there is a very little difference. You might be getting an advantage from taking Computer Science with a specialisation in some circumstances. For example, if a company's main activity is centred on AI and ML, the person who has completed a CSE with AI & ML as a specialisation will be given first consideration. But keep in mind that specialisation confines you because there are a limited number of companies based on your specialisation. In this scenario, Normal CSE has an advantage because there are a huge number of firms for them. While most of them allow specialisation students to sit, a few may not.

I hope this answer helps you.

All the very best!!

Good luck!!
