Greetings.

All the NITs are government institutions. The class 12th board cutoffs of almost all the government institutions, such as IITs and other state government colleges are the same. The clas 12th board cutoff % for NITs is 75% marks. Though, the cutoff varies for different caste categories such as the cutoff for SC and ST candidates are 60% and 55% respectively.

To get into engineering, you Just need to pass in your boards. That's all. Generally we see, people getting into good engineering colleges, acquire satisfiable board results. But for engineering, The JEE ranks matter more.

According to the eligibility criteria for admission to NITS you need to have secured a minimum 75% marks in class XII or equivalent exam or be in the top 20 percentile in your class XII exam conducted by the respective board. For SC/ ST category you need secure 65% marks in class XII or equivalent exam for NITs
