There is very much high chance of getting NIT.  NIT'S be ranging from 85% to 90% and so on. A candidate from ST category can have a very good chance of securing a seat in NIT.

Since the best engineering schools require 90+ percentile, there is a good probability that someone with an 85 percentile in JEE Mains will be admitted to one of the core B. Tech branches at NITs or IIITs. But, in addition to various private and public engineering colleges, you could find some more branches in the less well-known institutions.
