As you have mentioned you have completed intermediate so we will suggest you to first complete your degree from any recognized University/ College and then apply for coaching in any private institute.

Yess you can also clear IAS in 1 attempt like your idol at the age of 21 but the basic eligibility is you must be a graduate from any stream.
And it's totally depends on you the way you prepare for your exams if you will work hard definitely you will get success
