If you want to get into an NIT then, after cracking JEE Mains with a decent score ,the only requirement for admission is that  a candidate must have be passed his class 12th board examination.

(% will not matter this year )

Now as you've asked about compartment, i would like to tell you that if students apppear for any compartment examination and clears it then they  are eligible for admission into NITs.
