It never matters how much gap you had in your first year of graduation and your class 12th.

It will matter at the time of job for sure. Since you have a tremendous 7 years gap then it will surely create a question whenever you apply for job.

Even a one year job is questionable and you had 7 years. See, if you had a serious issue then mention that without any hesitation or if you had any other plans.

Coming to your point of doing graduation or joining a college, so yes you can apply without any issue but you should make sure that perform well and donot left any questions for the people out there.

Age is not a bar for education since knowledge is endless.
