You can opt for any under graduation course,either b,tech, b.sc, BA ,LLB etc..You can opt for a b.tech course for backup because you can get other job offers in case if you want to change your career track.Or if you are very serious about IAS,then you can take majors Political science or sociology.This will be helpful for your UPSC exam prepartion.

UPSC exam is all about dedication and interest.

I would suggest you to choose the subject according to your interest.

For optional subjects you can opt any one subject which suits your interest.

Keep your general knowledge and current affairs strong and newspaper is a Bible for UPSC.

see to appear in upsc civil services examination you need to have a graduation degree in any discipline, and people from any area of studies can appear in upsc civil service exam, so you may choose the subjects after you passed 10th course, as per your liking and interest.

You can choose any subject as per your interests as to be become an ias officer you need to clear upsc exam , now to be eligible for upsc you need to be just a graduate in any subject i.e there's no compulsion that you need to be graduate in a particular subject.

So you can choose any subject of your choice .

In case if you are interested in geography, civics, history etc then keeping upsc in mind, Arts / Humanities would be a great option as your stream after your ssc i. Class 10th, as it would be of great help in your upsc and you will enjoy lots of benefits in the UPSC exam .
This is because if you choose Humanities / Arts then you will have subjects like History, Geography, Polity, Economics which are a part of syllabus of upsc examination .
