Admission to B.E/B.Tech in any discipline Thiagarajar College of Engineering  is based on merit in TNEA. The admission is done through single window counselling by Anna University. It does not accept accept JEE Main Paper 1 score. The admission is solely based on marks scored in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The eligibility criteria is that a candidate must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as mandatory subjects along with any vocational subjects from the following

• General Machinist
• Electrical Machines and Appliances

• Electronic Equipments

  Recommended

• Draughtsman Civil

• Auto Mechanic

• Textile Technology

Candidates belonging to general category must score minimum 50% aggregate marks in PCM, for Backward Classes including Backward Class Muslim minimum 45% aggregate marks in PCM and for MBC/DNC/SC/SCA/ST  it is minimum 40% aggregate marks in PCM.
