Yes 1 year is enough if you study seriously for GATE. With GATE score many PSU recruit candidates. GATE also gives you opportunity for higher studies.
If you want to study for job than practice aptitude and core subjects of your stream.
Rigrous study for one year will help you crack any job exam and GATE as well.
