Yes 10 % reservation for economically weeker section will be applicable from this year itself. As a matter of fact IITs , NITs  have already implemented it. Post this year more seats will be added into IITs, NITs to accomodate this students.

To be eligible for this reservation the candidate needs to be from general category and his family income should be less than 8 lacks. And should posses less than 5 acres of agricultural land.
