Physics:
Concepts Of Physics by H.C. Verma: It is the most essential books for JEE preparation and if completed diligently, is enough to cover your entire JEE physics preparation. Read and practise properly from this book and physics would be a stroll in the park in JEE.

NCERT Physics: For JEE main purposes certain fact-based questions can be answered if one is through with the additional chapters in NCERT. Chapters like semiconductors and communication systems can be read from the NCERT to be able to answer the questions from these chapters.

Chemistry
NCERT Chemistry: This is the bible for JEE chemistry and should be followed thoroughly. Not just for facts but conceptually, the book is very rich in its description and concepts.
