You can't do Mtech in a different stream. In India, you have to do MTech in EE only.  You can't do MSc also. you can do MS in IT in aboard. for that you have to go through may different process for getting selected.

for Btech in EE, Mtech in EE specialization can be done. different streams are available in one branch. for Electrical engineering, available streams are :-

1. Communication engineering
2. Control and computing
3. Power electronics and power systems
4. microelectronics
5. electronics
