BAMS i.e. Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery Comprises of 3 Professional Courses each of 1.5 years that is total course Duration is 4.5 years and also you have to do 1 year of internship. So, Effective duration for BAMS course is 5.5 years.

The Curriculum of the BAMS Course is as follows:

First Year:

• History of Ayurveda
• Sanskrit and Samhita
• Anatomy (Rachna Sharira)
• Physiology (Kriya Sharira)

Second Year:

• Pharmacology (Rasa Shastra avam Bhaisajya Kalpana)
• Toxicology (Agadtantra, Vyavahar Ayurveda and Vidhi Vaidyaka)
• Pathology and Pulse Diagnostics (Vikriti Vigyan and Nadi Pariksha)
• Personal and Social Hygiene (Svasthavritta Yoga)

Third Year:

• General Medicine (Kaya Chikitsa)
• Principles of Surgery (Shalya Tantra)
• Gynecology (Prasuti tantra)
• Paediatrics (Kaumara Bhritya)
• ENT, eye and dentistry (Shalakya Tantra)
• Yoga
• Dissertation
