Hello Dear,

For appearing the exam for Sub-inspecter , that person from humanities side is better placed.

Looking back at the syllabus of  previous exam , there are questions from every field, be it science/ social science/maths, english etc with syllabus from 9th to 12th standard.

I have seen ( by my own experience, which of course you can disagree with) that science background people are generally weak in humanities ( history, pol sc, Geography etc.) which vice versa is not always.

After 12th if u take any field u can apply for the UPSC or SSC CGL Examinations to become sub-inspector but you have to gain more social knowledge and u can able to know what is going in the world and u should also ready to know geography, economics, politics and governance, statistics, quantitative aptitude and reasoning concepts.

Good Luck.
