Every year 200 students are selected for MBBS programme in JIPMER Puducherry and Karaikal collectively. In that 200, 50 seats are allocated for Puducherry state students. Remaining 150 students are selected from All India Quota. So if you belong to general category, you should be under AIR 120-130 maximum.

In 2018 last ranks to be admitted in jipmer are as follows for general or unreserved categories:

• closing rank for puducherry campus was 156 for Unreserved category.
• closing rank for karaikal campus was 978 for unreserved category
