You haven't specified any particular exam or any university to which you are trying to get admission into. However, according to the eligibility criteria of several exams, after 12th, it is not mandate that you need to complete your 12th grade, you can fill up the applications without getting the result. But this does not mean that you don't have to qualify in the exam, you need to qualify, then only you will be eligible for the admissions.
