Yes Gap certificate is required Time of admission in Institute but don't warry it is not very diffecult to issue. You can make gap certificate from Affidavit is your declaration on the non-judicial stamp paper stating the reason for taking gap such that what are the reason for gap  You can buy stamp certificates from any notary , sub-registrar offices, court and verify it by the notary.
