Hello Surekha,

If your documents have initials (such as in your name) but your OBC certificate does not, it could potentially cause discrepancies during the NEET registration process. NEET registration requires consistency in the name across all documents.

To avoid issues:

  1. Ensure consistency : If the name on your OBC certificate is different from other documents due to the absence of initials, it is best to get the OBC certificate corrected to match the other documents.

  2. Cross-check all documents : All your documents (including mark sheets, ID proofs, and the OBC certificate) should reflect the same name format (with or without initials) to avoid any discrepancies during the verification process.

It’s always a good idea to clarify this with the official NEET helpline or the concerned authorities before the registration deadline.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

Having initials in your documents except for your OBC certificate can potentially cause discrepancies during NEET registration and admission. Here's what you should do:

1. Understand the Issue:

  • If the names on your documents (like school certificates, Aadhaar, etc.) do not match exactly with your OBC certificate, it could raise questions during verification.
  • Authorities usually expect your name to be consistent across all documents to avoid confusion.

2. Steps to Resolve:

  • Check NEET Guidelines:
NEET authorities typically require consistent names in all documents. Verify this in the NEET information bulletin.
  • Correct the OBC Certificate:
Approach the issuing authority for your OBC certificate and request a correction to match the name in your other documents.
  • Affidavit for Name Variation:
If correcting the OBC certificate is not possible before registration, prepare a notarized affidavit stating that both versions of the name (with and without initials) belong to the same person.
  • Self-Declaration Letter:
Some institutions accept a self-declaration letter explaining the discrepancy, but this depends on the verification process.

3. During NEET Registration:

  • Use the name exactly as it appears in your Class 10 or Aadhaar document when registering.
  • Keep your affidavit or corrected certificate ready for the document verification stage.

Conclusion:

It’s better to resolve this issue in advance to avoid complications during or after NEET registration. Let me know if you need help drafting an affidavit or a self-declaration letter!
