some of the bacteria are autotrophic. they synthesize their own food from inorganic substrates.what does that means?

So, to answer your question, An autotroph is an organism able to make its own food . Autotrophic organisms take inorganic substances into their bodies and transform them into organic nourishment. The bacterial structure lacks chlorophyll and unable to synthesize organic compounds which they need as food from simple inorganic substances. They obtain these from the external sources.
