A division of the Sri Venkateswara Educational and Health Trust is SVCE (SVEHT). The Trust was established on August 1st, 1985, at His Holiness Pujashree Kanchi Kamakoti Peedathipathi Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal's request and with His kind permission. The college's chairman of the governing council is Dr. A. C. Muthiah, a well-known engineer, businessman, and philanthropist. 95 acres of lovely green land surround the campus. It is housed in stunning structures with a wealth of amenities including classrooms, labs, libraries, sports arenas, canteens, hostels, ect.

Anna University has designated 10 departments as research centres for PhD study. Electrical and electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, applied mathematics, applied physics, and applied chemistry are among the engineering disciplines (vii) Biotechnology (viii) Information Technology (ix) Electronic and communication engineering, computer science, and engineering. As joint research centres for PhD degrees, Anna University has recognised the aforementioned departments as research centres.

ADMISSIONS:

The Directorate of Technical Education is responsible for managing an unified merit list that the Government of Tamil Nadu uses to manage admissions to B.E./B.Tech. programmes at all affiliated colleges. According to the rules for Tamilnadu Engineering Admissions, admission to B.E./B.Tech programmes shall be based on the grades earned in the Higher Secondary Exam.
