Hello aspirant
Both structural engineering and construction management has their pros and cons

Pros of Structural Engineering

Structural Engineers are well paid and most sought after
Compared to other civil engineering disciplines, its an AC-PC job, mostly you work on offices and not sites.
Cons:

You need a very good rank in GATE to get into the Structural engineering department of the best institutes in India
You should have a strong understanding about engineering fundamentals
Career growth is limited as you stay as a Designer for most part of your career.
Pros of Construction Technology and Management

The course is much more simple and more managerial in nature with less technical aspects
Job opportunities are plenty
Career growth is quick and promising - you start off as a planning engineer and soon move on to managerial roles
Cons:

The jobs will be mostly site related.
As construction projects are unique and complex, the risk associated is high.
Compared to designer job which is more individualistic in nature, construction management is not a one man show. You need to get/mould a team to achieve results.
Reworks or redesigns are comapartively easy in design while it may kill your career in construction management as the time and cost associated with projects are huge and the reputation of the firm you work for is at risk.
Overall, both streams have tremendous opportunities as demand for infrastructure will keep growing as long as mankind exist. So choose a stream to suit your taste and excel in that.

All the very best !!!
