Here is the detailed syllabus for the BA LLB Entrance Exams (CLAT and AILET)

English including Comprehension

In this section, the proficiency in English is tested on the basis of questions related to comprehension passages and grammar . In the comprehension section, candidates are evaluated on the basis of their understanding of the passage, the central theme, meanings of words used in the passage etc. The grammar section requires correction of incorrect grammatical sentences, filling of blanks in sentences with appropriate words, etc.

General Knowledge and Current Affairs

In this section, candidates are evaluated on the basis of their general awareness including static general knowledge. Current affair questions test a candidate’s knowledge about the events happening nationally as well as internationally . To prepare for this section, candidates are advised to be up-to-date with news and other topics discussed in mainstream media from March 2019 to April 2020.

Mathematics

In this section, candidate’s knowledge on elementary Mathematics , that is, Maths taught up to Class X is tested.

Legal Aptitude

In this section, a candidate’s interest in the field of law, research aptitude as well as problem solving abilities are tested.

The official website of the CLAT Consortium states, “Questions may include legal propositions and a set of facts to which the said proposition has to be applied. Some propositions may not be “true” in the real sense, candidates will have to assume the “truth” of these propositions and answer the questions accordingly.”

Logical Reasoning

In this section, a candidate’s ability to identify patterns, logical links as well as rectify illogical arguments are evaluated. This section of CLAT exam includes logical reasoning questions along the lines of syllogisms, analogies, logical sequences, etc. However, visual reasoning is not tested in the exam.
