Correct Answer: 550


Solution : Given that the circumference of the base of the cone is 44 cm.
The circumference of a circle is $2 \pi r$.
$2 \pi r = 44$
$\Rightarrow r = \frac{44}{2 \pi} =7$
Given that the height of the cone is 24 cm. 
$l^2 = r^2 + h^2$
$\Rightarrow l^2 =(7)^2 + 24^2$
$\Rightarrow l =25$ cm
The curved surface area of a cone $=\pi rl= \frac{22}{7} \times7 \times25= 550$ cm2 
Hence, the correct answer is 550 cm2.
