Hello candidate!
For JEE MAIN you get three attempts which is counting your 12th standard passing year as well. So for example if you are passing this year then you can appear for 2019, 2020 and 2021.
For JEE ADVANCED you get only two attempts so you could appear only for 2019 and 2020.

Three years means six chances for jee mains and one time jee mains qualifications means consecutive two attempts for jee advance
