Hello student.

Taking a year break for sole preparation of NEET is not a waste of time according to me. However, after studying for one year, if you do not get admission in medical college then you will definitely feel that you have wasted your one year. therefore, make sure that you do not feel like you have wasted your time. Think carefully and take your parents advice as well as have a proper look at your present NEET score. If you think that you can put in more efforts and get admission into MBBS or any other medical field then only you should take a chance of dropping a year for preparation. You should also be sure that you will continue your preparation till the end and not leave the preparation in the middle of the year which will definitely waste your year.  Your parents' support and a proper coaching will definitely help you in the preparation.

Find out all your weak points in the syllabus of NEET, the points which you couldn't focus on in the first attempt and then make a new schedule to prepare for these topics and to daily revise the already studied topics.

This will help you in the preparation and therefore, you won't waste your year while preparing for NEET.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.

Hello,

Yes it is true, dropping a year for getting good college is not a correct option. But if you have the hope that surely 100% you will get a good college means you can drop a year. But if you are in doubt of getting a good college you should not drop a year.

All the best!
