Some best tips to prepare for competitive exams like JEE Mains and advance :

Note down the syllabus and weightage of each topic
Be strong in fundamental concepts
Prepare your own notes, write down all the maths formulas , physics formulas for numerical problems ( this would save a lot of time when you are solving problems)
Solve as many problems as possible in each topic which has more weightage ( this makes you perfect in that particular topic)
Go through previous year question papers, start solving previous year question papers ( this is the best way to save your time, get grip on important topics and also helps in getting an idea about the pattern and type of questions you have to solve in the exam)
Start giving more mock test ( this helps you know how much time you are taking to solve the question paper), as you practice the time consumption will also be less
Most importantly do not lose hope, be confident.

Hope this helps you, "Practice makes Man perfect", so yes keep on practicing and solve previous year question papers.
