Though if I qualified in GATE,can I definitely clear the interview in NIT'S?

Hi Aspirant,

Definitely,normally no interviews are held for GATE candidates. Once get alloted to a seat for a particular college then you can just confirm your seat by paying the required fee and then you can directly go and take admission on stipulated date.

There are few instances when NITs do conduct interviews for M.Tech admissions.

There is a thing called as" Spot Interview for M.Tech" which most of the NITs do conduct sometime.


M.tech admission in NIT's is done through CCMT and it is purely based on the GATE score, but for MS admission each NIT will publish advertisement on its own website, and it is based on GATE score and the interview. Sometimes interview is just a screening process. Policy might vary for other institutions, but the GATE cutoff is way less than the M.tech admission.

Normally for counselling of MS 1/5 ratio is called, and no GD is conducted.
