yes it will be as the cutoff for the SC and ST are kept very low so they rank high in merit list which makes other category candidates to stand with a low rank.

Try for the courses or colleges which accepts your categorical rank or your general rank. As the cutoff varies every year, it depends how much seats are left after so many rounds of counselling.

Try for the low priority options you will get one.
