I think, Transformers is quite interesting, as well as easy to understand. Also there are not many concepts asoscited as compared to Photoelectric effect, So you may go for it in VIVA.

Photoelectric effect experiments are quite easy, due to restricted syllabus, so it may be good for practical. Also, the experiments are easy to understand, the apparatus too are easy to operate.
