Hi there,

Four level of readings that everyone should be aware are following:

Elementary reading

Inspectional reading

Analytical reading

Syntopical reading

Elementary reading:

Elementary reading is also known as initial reading rudimentary reading or basic reading . One should master this level to pass from nonliteracy to at least beginning literacy. At this level one acquire initial reading skills, learn the rudiments of the art of reading and receives basic training in reading.

Inspectional reading:

This level is also called as skimming or pre-reading. The aim of this level is examining the “surface” of the book to get more out of the book

Analytical reading:

Analytical reading is  more complex level for readers. This level can be omitted if you are reading for the purpose of entertainment but this level is required if you are reading to improve understanding.

Synoptical reading:

This level is also  called as comparative reading. It is  most difficult level of reading.  Here a reader reads different texts on the same topic and does a comparison to arrive at better understanding of the subject .

Hope this helps you

Good luck!
