Both University and Colleges are recognised by UGC but not every college or University as there are certain criteria that needs to be fulfilled. University/College has to apply to UGC in the specified format. If the university meets the qualifying criteria outlined in the UGC 12 B regulations, a UGC Expert Committee will be formed which will examine certain aspects.
