Placement numbers in JMI are not so good. A central university college students not getting placed is a shame. If your goal in life is to get a good placement, and you are not in computer science, then your chances are very less. An average about 200 plus students get placed in Faculty of engineering every year out of 300 eligible students. In 2018–2019 placement session around 70 companies came for recruitment at campus with highest package of 30 lakh  and lowest package was 3.2 lakh. Around 40 companies offered a CTC exceeding 5 LPA.

The placements for Jamia are decent as the highest package is around 15L whereas the average goes for around 3-4L. The college also provides internship opportunities to the students. The college has its own placements department. Currently, the college might be facing some issues and the college is trying hard to bring placements
