There are a lot of entrance exams that take place every year for the purpose if admission into various colleges of India for different fields like medical, engineering, Bachelor's, etc.

In all the entrance exams, the students qualify based on marks/score however, the admission is based on rank obtained by the student because the cut-off in almost all colleges is given as ranks.

This is because several students may score marks between 90-100 marks range but they will only be differentiated on the basis on their rank. For example, students that score almost 80-90% marks may not be able to get admission if the number of students appearing in the exam are very high and most of them score above 90%, thus ranks are very important for the purpose of admissions.

Hiii dear!!!!! You can't get admission in the basis of either rank or score individually. Both of these are interrelated to each other. Your score will decide your rank. The more you score, the better your rank will get. Therefore both are considered while giving asmisadmi.
