What are B.tech mech., jobs opportunities in govt/public sector, do they prefer Pvt univ. Candidates or thru Govt colleges. Pls guide me.

For any government you will have to appear for entrance exams post your B.tech. The college that you choose to pursue your B.Yech would hardly matter unless you are from an IIT or NIT. So incase you are confusing about choosing a college based on this parameter you can go for either.

As far as job opportunities are concerned, they vary every year based on the number of vacancy, so you need to keep looking up for it.
