After the allotment of seats , candidates have options of freeze and float .

Freeze means you want to continue with the option that is alloted to you.

Float means you have accepted the college but you want a better disciplines in same college.

These are the options.

In any counselling if that is for JOSAA , state counselling or any other counselling Freeze option is available if you want don't want to go in further counselling rounds and you are happy with the seat you get in any college and after freeze for you counselling stops there.

But in case of Float for any counselling it means that you don't want to leave your seat for the time and you want to also try in further rounds and you are confident that you will get seat in other college  or different stream in same  college then you can leave your previously allotted seat if you don't get any seat in further round then seat allotted to you stays with you..

After your choice filling options and seat is alloted you will get options as freeze., Float etc.,

Freeze means you have accepted the seat alloted to you and you dont want to participate in the next alloted rounds of counselling. You just have to report at the alloted college.

Float means you have accepted the alloted seat but you want to have better programme than which you have got. In this case if you have got seat in further round you will lose the previously alloted seats.

Hence you have to be carefull during the choice filling option.

Hello architasahu2468 , From some research on internet I found that freeze means that you are accept the allotted seat and do not want to participate in further counselling. And float means that you accept the allotted seat but also want to participate in further counselling.
