What are the characteristics of a conversation ? How is a conversation different from other speech events ?

Conversation happens between two people. It can be formal or informal. Conversation is a talk in which both have equal rights to express their thoughts and suggestions as well as arguments. It happens between friends, families, relatives, officials etc. Speech is a talk between an individual and a crowd. During speech one person is allowed to talk and others are not involved. The person who delivers speech talks about a particular topic were as others listen to it.

Conversation is more like an interactive session which helps in socialization. During a conversation you have to respect other person's suggestions and arguments. You how to be more understandable and a great listener. Appreciation and acceptance, at the same time self control and resistance are also important in an conversation.

Characteristics of speech includes speech flow, loudness, intonation and intensity of overtones. A speech should be a slow talk in an informal touch with great clarity. It should be free from emotions and audience should be considered. Self-Awareness and continuous self-improvement are other features.
