The functions of the chloroplast given in the NCERT Solutions Class 11 Biology Chapter 8 Cell: The Unit of Life are given below:

  • Chloroplasts are the site of photosynthesis.
  • Chloroplasts contain the enzymes for the synthesis of carbohydrates and proteins.
  • They temporarily or permanently store starch.
