You cannot directly pursue the path of becoming an IAS officer immediately after completing your class 12 board exams. The process entails obtaining a degree, such as B.Com, B.A honors, B.Tech, or any other. Subsequently, you must prepare for the UPSC exams. If you pass these exams, you will be called for an interview round. Following that, there are numerous procedures to navigate through. Only after successfully completing all of these steps can you attain the position of an IAS officer.

Becoming an IAS officer requires hard work, perseverance and dedication towards each steps which should be followed after completing MPC intermediate:
STEP 1: " Bachelor's Degree of any subject of your choice"- There is no specific graduation degree for IAS eligibility, but as a general advice, a degree with a group of subjects which includes Administrations, Sociology, History, Economics etc. can help you pursuing the IAS syllabus in a smooth manner. Involve yourself in gaining more knowledge about the current affairs and improve your G.K.
STEP 2: " Prepare for Civil Service Examination "- This is a 3-staged exam with Preliminary, Main and Personality test (interview) conducted by UPSC. Start the preparation from your college days to clear this in small period of time. Familiarize yourself as much as possible about the pattern and syllabus of UPSC Exam.
STEP 3: " Selection of Optional Subject in MAINS Exam" - This subject should be the one with your genuine interest. Some popular subjects recommendation for this stage are History, Geography, Political Science, Literature, Philosophy etc. Develop your writing skills.
STEP 4: " Coaching for IAS EXAM PREPARTION and Self Study "- They can guide you with a structured framework of the biggest examinations of your life, but self-study is the key without which no coaching material will grant you the seat to surpass the IAS examination. Always stay active with the students at your coaching institute to converse about their preparation pace and syllabus coverage. Lastly, make your study routines according to your weak & strong subjects.
STEP 5: " Stay updated with current affairs and General knowledge ": Reading newspapers, magazines, keeping yourself updated in social media for good source of what is actually happening around the world and even travelling can help you in gaining knowledge in this step.
STEP 6: " MOCK TESTS and PREVIOUS YEARS' QUESTIONS ": Solving the questions will train you more with time-management and improve your problem-solving skills.
STEP 7: " Work on Communication Skills" : Participate in Public speaking events and General discussion which will boost your communication skills and confidence. This is very much important for your upcoming career of an IAS officer.
